Notice to Children
If you are under age 13, and you wish to sign up for our online learning community or participate in an event at, conducted by or sponsored by Open Space Education (OSE), your parent or guardian must register you and provide consent as well as your information. Please ask your parent or guardian to fill out your online registration form.
Notice to Parents/Guardians
OSE complies with the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA) and provides the OSE Privacy Policy. This notice describes our practices for collecting, using, and disclosing personal information from and about children age 12 or under. Parent/Guardian Consent
We will not collect information from or about a child under age 13 unless we receive a parent’s or guardian’s consent. You may grant consent by providing one of the following:
- a credit card in your name for payment
- a check in your name for payment
- a signed statement of consent.
Revoking Consent and Deleting Information
At any time, a parent or guardian may revoke consent and direct us to delete your child’s information from our online data storage. If you revoke your consent, your child may not be able to participate in any OSE events or field studies; check with the trip organizer for more details. If you ask us to delete your child’s information, the institutions of OSE will not use it for any purpose except where required by applicable laws or regulations. Information We Collect
The information we collect generally includes your child’s name, e-mail address, street address and age. Depending on the activities in which your child chooses to participate, your child may be asked to provide additional information. We do not require a person to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity.
How We Use the Information
We use the information about your child to register your child for advising with OSE or for an event or field study with OSE and to ensure appropriate content and safety for participants. OSE will not disclose your child’s information to any third party without your authorization, except as may be required by law.
